This is the literal definition as given by The Economic Times. But the twist in the tales comes with the next thing I am gonna discuss.

Who is called a ‘HACKER’? Are they really the bad guys?

I will go into the definition later. But mainly what the layman understands by the term ‘HACKER’ is the bad guy who violates law and retrieves personal data for personal profit or use.
This is not entirely TRUE, let us know why.

According to Richard Stallman, who proposed the term cracker,

the difference is that a cracker breaks the security of computer systems, and a hacker is a person who likes to explore computer systems and master them, in the context of software.
